On the night of
Saturday, January 24, 2009, OSPRI once again returned to The Elms
Resort and Spa in Excelsior Springs, MO.
We had 35 guests
extremely interested in learning more about paranormal investigation. We met in the amphitheater and showed slides
of the Elms and the stories surrounding some of the alleged paranormal
activity.
Connie, Mike, Sarah and
I answered several questions such as questions on equipment, what are
orbs and what would be a basic ‘kit’ to start their endeavor into the
field. We spent about an hour with them
and then proceeded to take 8-9 guests with each one of us to start our
tour.
We went into various
rooms supposedly with an entity seen or heard during the many years The
Elms has been in existence and took photos, EVP readings and various
types of temperature readings.
During the time we were
taking guests around, the fire alarm rang and guests left their hotel
rooms to join everyone in the lobby while the fire department came and
checked out what was going on. It turned
out to be a problem with the elevator and the all clear was given.
We returned to our
various floors and rooms and continued to answer questions and laughed
that we may have disturbed the spirits which turned on the fire alarm,
of course this wasn’t true, but it sure was a different type of evening. The fire alarm just added more to the night.
We all gathered back
around midnight to the theater and guests handed over their photo chips
to see, if anything, they may have found. We
reviewed many of them and explained various orbs, mists and other
anomalies. The guests were great and said
they would send photos to us within a few days – IF they think they got
any unusual photos.
We had a great time, as
always, The Elms and marketing manager Keith Winge were great. Keith was there to take photos for Facebook
and he even enjoyed some of the activities before he left for the
evening. Manager Eric Busick has never let
us down and worked with us to help guests understand a little more of
paranormal investigations.
We will be back at the
Elms soon, so watch for an announcement and keep checking Facebook. -
